LONG BEACH PENINSULA, Wash. – January 16, 2007 – Film enthusiasts of all ages will be drawn to the eclectic line-up for the 2007 Raindance Film Festival at Long Beach’s Neptune Twin Theatres, Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18. From classic musicals to late 21st century comedies, the Festival is sure to delight and entertain.

Filmgoers have the opportunity to pick and choose from the six big-screen flicks shown each day of the Festival. Saturday kicks off with humor and thrills -- the groundbreaking animated classic of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Mel Brooks’ spoof Young Frankenstein, along with Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and Rear Window. Also on the program for Saturday are Edward Scissorhands, starring a young Johnny Depp, and the defining French film from the 1980s, Diva.

The Film Festival’s program for Sunday promises to be equally remarkable. Early in the day, the timeless musicals Singing in the Rain and The Sound of Music will enchant the whole family. To add to the sophisticated repertoire of classics, the Festival wraps up with the 1940s’ dramas Murder My Sweet and The Postman Always Rings Twice, the Italian epic Miracle in Milan, and, from the British Film Noir era, The Third Man.

Raindance Film Festival will run from noon to midnight on February 17 and 18 at the Neptune Twin Theatres, 809 Boulevard S, Long Beach, Washington. The Festival was created by Long Beach Peninsula resident and Ilwaco High School senior Madeline Dickerson as a senior project, and reflects her study and passion for film. Admission is free:  all donations will benefit the Ilwaco High School Art Program.

For Festival, travel and destination information, please contact the Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau at 1-800-451-2542 or access the Peninsula’s web site at www.funbeach.com.
