LONG BEACH PENINSULA, Wash. – July 30, 2007 – Legendary drummer, Ron Steen, known in the jazz community as the ‘Godfather of Jazz Jams’, will bring an all-star line up to the rolling lawn of the historic Oysterville schoolhouse on Sunday, August 19, for Jazz & Oysters – a not-to-be-missed annual benefit for the Water Music Festival.

Steen, a consummate accompanist, will share the stage with vocal dynamo, Marilyn Keller, who will be showcasing her versatility as a premier gospel artist in the morning and a jazz diva in the afternoon. Kevin Dietz, well-known composer/performer/teacher of classical and jazz bass, and George Mitchell, a celebrated pianist, who has played for former president Bill Clinton, Motown founder Berry Gordy, and Prince Charles, among many others, will complete the quartet.

Jazz & Oysters promises to be a memorable day with great musical entertainment, a beer and wine garden, oysters on the BBQ, fruit and cheese plates, and scrumptious desserts from the Peninsula’s renowned restaurants. An all-day pass is $18. Tickets for children age six to 12 are half price. Admission for children five years and under is free.  Mail-in ticket order forms can be downloaded at http://www.watermusicfestival.com/pages/tickets.html.
