Historic Oysterville Will Rock With Jazz & Oysters On Sunday, August 19 |

July 30, 2007 Legendary drummer, Ron Steen, known in the jazz community as the ‘Godfather of Jazz Jams’, will bring an all-star line up to the rolling lawn of the historic Oysterville schoolhouse on Sunday, August 19, for Jazz & Oysters a not-to-be-missed annual benefit for the Water Music Festival. Steen, a consummate accompanist, will share the stage with vocal dynamo, Marilyn Keller, who will be showcasing her versatility as a premier gospel artist in the morning and a jazz diva in the afternoon. Kevin Dietz, well-known composer/performer/teacher of classical and jazz bass, and George Mitchell, a celebrated pianist, who has played for former president Bill Clinton, Motown founder Berry Gordy, and Prince Charles, among many others, will complete the quartet. Jazz & Oysters promises to be a memorable day with great musical entertainment, a beer and wine garden, oysters on the BBQ, fruit and cheese plates, and scrumptious desserts from the Peninsula’s renowned restaurants. An all-day pass is $18. Tickets for children age six to 12 are half price. Admission for children five years and under is free.
