"I've seen this makeshift fort on the beach all winter. This time it took on a whole new meaning. While I was walking near the water, I heard a strange bird noise, a sound I had never heard before. It prompted me to look atop the fort's pole, and there sat a bald eagle! Soon its mate entered on the scene! It was truly a wonderful sight. The fort has since been torn down. It was located north of the Oysterville approach."
